In a statement issued by him today, Friday, 21/7/2023, the Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Dr. Shakhwan Abdullah Ahmed, condemned in the strongest terms the repeated insult to the Holy Qur’an, adding that the Swedish government’s allowing extremists to transgress and openly attack the heavenly books and insult the Iraqi flag and religious and national symbols is a “provocation and insolence.” the Deputy Speaker expressed his support for the actions of the federal government and the stand of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs towards the Swedish embassy, pointing out that what happened was a hostile act that encourages racism and hatred and must be stopped, and the Swedish government must apologize to the Islamic nation and punish extremists with the law.
