Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Dr. Shakhwan Abdullah, on the International Day of Minority Rights, stresses the protection of the rights of minorities by the laws in force, and the importance of spreading a culture of tolerance and peaceful coexistence

On the occasion of the International Day of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Minorities, which falls today, Sunday, December 18, the Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Dr. Shakhwan Abdullah Ahmed, stressed that the federal government has a duty to protect the rights of minorities with the laws in force, implement the constitution, and ensure a decent life for minorities, especially since the country Mesopotamia is characterized by its national, religious and linguistic diversity, while his Sovereignty called on state institutions, organizations, and civil activities to the importance of spreading awareness of the culture of tolerance and peaceful coexistence, achieving equality, justice and building society on the basis of respect for religions and beliefs and non-discrimination between the components of the people.
