Al-Halboosi receives the Italian Prime Minister
The Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halboosi received on Friday the Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni and her accompanying delegation.
The meeting discussed the file of activating bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the fields of energy, agriculture, health, water management, infrastructure projects, and economic and trade exchange.
Al-Halboosi affirmed that the House of Representatives supports cooperation between the Iraqi and Italian governments in areas that contribute to achieving a service that meets the needs of the Iraqi citizen, expressing Iraq’s aspiration to enhance and activate ways of cooperation between the two countries, and praised Italy’s efforts in training Iraqi forces and its role within the international coalition to fight ISIS.
On the other hand, the Italian Prime Minister expressed her desire to strengthen relations between the two countries, affirming her country’s support for Iraq in all fields for its stability and continuing to support the Iraqi forces, noting that it is not easy to obtain prosperity and peace in the Middle East without a strong Iraq.
