The Acting Speaker of the Council of Representatives Mourns the Passing of Writer Basim Abdul Hamid Hamoudi

On May 10, 2024, the Acting Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Mr. Mohsen Al-Mandlawi, expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the esteemed Iraqi writer and thinker, Professor Basim Abdul Hamid Hamoudi, who leaves an enduring cultural legacy.

The condolence statement read:

“With profound sadness, we mourn the departure of the writer, novelist, and thinker, Basim Abdul Hamid Hamoudi. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Union of Writers and Authors and the bereaved family, praying that the Almighty bestows abundant mercy upon him.”
