Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Dr. Shakhwan Abdullah, on the anniversary of the genocide of the Faili Kurds, calls for the issuance of executive government decisions and the adoption of binding legislation to restore their rights.

In a statement issued by His Sovereignty, the Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Dr. Shakhwan Abdullah Ahmed, recalled the passage of (44) years since the tragedy of the Faili Kurds and what they were subjected to at the hands of the genocidal Baath, and carrying out a series of killings, displacement, and the disappearance of young people in prisons since April 1980, and deporting families of children, women, and the elderly to the border, revoking their citizenship, and confiscating their money and property because of their national and patriotic affiliation and their support for the liberation movements of the people of Kurdistan.

– The Deputy Speaker on this painful occasion, called on the federal government to issue executive government decisions and direct the ministries to remove the harm suffered by the Faili Kurds, and to approve binding laws and legislation to restore all their legitimate rights and compensate them for the great injustice they have suffered for decades.
