Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Dr. Shakhwan Abdullah from the British Embassy: Iraq is looking forward to strengthening cooperation mechanisms and establishing economic partnerships with friendly countries.

 

In response to the invitation extended to his Sovereignty by the British Embassy, the Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, Dr. Shakhwan Abdullah Ahmed, visited the headquarters of the British Embassy in the capital, Baghdad, he was received by the UK Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Mark Brasion Richardson, with the embassy staff, and the invitation was in honor of Baroness Emma Nicholson, President of the Iraqi-British Business Council, in the presence of a number of businessmen, the political and security situation on the Iraqi scene and the work of the Council of Representatives in its current session were discussed, in addition to the importance of continuing coordination and cooperation between Iraq and Britain in order to consolidate bilateral relations to serve the common interests of the two friendly countries, in the context of his speech, the Deputy Speaker indicated that “Iraq is looking forward to strengthening cooperation mechanisms and establishing economic partnerships with friendly countries, especially as there is a new phase of reconstruction and prosperity and the implementation of strategic projects in all governorates of Iraq, which requires continuous coordination with our partners.”
