Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Dr. Shakhwan Abdullah, chairs the joint meeting between the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee and the Interior, Security and Peshmerga Committees in the Kurdistan Parliament

 

 

The Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Dr. Shakhwan Abdullah Ahmed, chaired the joint meeting held today, Monday 23/1/2023 in the Constitutional Hall between the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee, the Interior and Security Committees, the local councils, and the Peshmerga in the Kurdistan Parliament, they discussed ways to develop mechanisms for joint coordination and parliamentary cooperation in the field of legislation and laws, as well as discussing uniting efforts and endeavors to face challenges and combat terrorism.

The Deputy Speaker, and in the context of his speech, pointed out the importance of continuing visits between the Council of Representatives and the Parliament of Kurdistan and holding joint meetings between parliamentary committees to discuss issues, files, and problems related to security aspects, and the importance of cooperation between the federal military forces and the region to control borders, fight terrorism, prevent smuggling, and hold the land to secure stability.
