Al-Halboosi receives the Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations for Political Affairs and Peacebuilding
The Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halboosi received, on Sunday, the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs, Ms. Rosemary de Carlo.
At the outset of the meeting, the Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations congratulated Iraq on winning the 25th Gulf Championship, wishing Iraq success and prosperity.
The political and security situation in the country was discussed, in addition to a number of regional and international issues, where his Excellency expressed Iraq’s aspiration for more support and cooperation with United Nations programs in all fields.
Ms. Rosemary de Carlo affirmed the United Nations’ continued support for Iraq in all fields and everything that contributes to achieving its development and stability.
The meeting was attended by the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Ms. Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert.
