Dr.Shakhwan Abdullah blesses Eid (Akitu), the Babylonian New Year, and calls for the consolidation of the principles of tolerance, coexistence and brotherhood among all components of the people

In a congratulatory statement issued by His Sovereignty on the occasion of Eid (Akitu) the Babylonian New Year, the Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Dr. Shakhwan Abdullah Ahmed, sent his warmest congratulations and great blessings to our Christian partners in the country from the Chaldeans, Assyrians and Syriacs throughout the governorates of Iraq, And the Kurdistan Region and the whole world, expressing his wishes that this happy occasion would be a sign of hope and a source of good for all, and that security, safety, stability would prevail in the country and that crises and adversities would be overcome.

In this statement, the Deputy Speaker of the Council called for the necessity of consolidating the principles of religious tolerance and coexistence, spreading the concepts of fraternity, peace, and harmony among all components of the people, Emphasizing the protection of the component’s rights by the necessary laws and legislations in a way that enhances the state of stability and prosperity in the country.
