Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives discusses with the Pakistani ambassador international efforts to combat terrorism, and ways to enhance prospects for cooperation between the two friendly countries 

The Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Dr. Shakhwan Abdullah Ahmed, received in his official office in Baghdad today, Sunday 6/3/2022, the Pakistani Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Ahmed Amjad Ali.
During the meeting, they discussed topics and issues of common interest, foremost of which are international efforts to combat terrorism and eliminate its roots, in addition to discussing ways to enhance prospects for cooperation in all fields between the two friendly countries.

the Deputy Speaker of the Council offered his condolences to the people and government of Pakistan following the terrorist bombing that targeted a mosque in the city of Peshawar, western Pakistan, Two days ago, it resulted in civilian casualties, while His Sovereignty affirmed the legislative institution’s continued support for the work of ambassadors and country missions, and activating the work of parliamentary friendship committees after the formation of permanent committees in the coming days.

For his part, the Pakistani ambassador expressed his country’s desire to develop bilateral relations between the two friendly peoples, especially in the economic, cultural and commercial fields, and to expand the volume of cooperation between the two countries, “and we are in the process of opening a consulate in Erbil Governorate in the Kurdistan Region.”
